Q: Can this mask be reused?
A: Yes, it can be autoclaved repeatedly at 134°C, which reduces risk of cross contamination and infectious disease.
Q: How does mask anesthesia work?
A: After patients’ unconsciousness is achieved, a breathing tube or Anesthesia Mask is placed on patients’ faces and anesthesia is administered through it to maintain unconscious state during the entire surgery.
Q: What are the color-coded hook rings used for around the connection port?
A: The color-coded hook rings provide easy size identification for clinician and allows the anesthesia face mask to be held in place on the patient.
Q: How do I know if I have the right size of anesthesia mask for different patients?
A: We have a size chart for the FirstCare anesthesia face mask. Generally, the current size of mask is based on if it can form a good seal on the patient’s face. While multiple sizes may appear to fit on a given patient, one size should fit better than others depending on the patient’s age and weight.
Q: What health standards should the Reusable PVC anesthesia mask meet?
A: ISO13485 standards are recommended and our transparent anesthesia face mask along with most of our first aid products meet this standard.
Q: The air cushion doesn’t seem to be inflated quite enough for my patient. What should be done?
A: If the air cushion does not appear to have the optimal amount of inflation, use a needle-less syringe with a Luer lock tip to inflate and deflate the cushion through the mask check valve.
